This animated map series presents national maps of the percent-uninsured population under age 65 at the county level from 2008 to 2022.
The data provided are indirect estimates produced by statistical model-based methods using sample survey, decennial census, and administrative data sources. The estimates contain error stemming from model error, sampling error, and nonsampling error. These rates are defined as the percent of the total county population under aged 65 that lack health insurance coverage.
Fixed 5-point breaks classification method was used to determine class breaks, and were applied to all previous years in order to compare changes in uninsured rates over time.
