An error in processing School Meals data led to less than 1 percent of cases being incorrectly set out of universe among those eligible to be in universe. The correct universe for ELUNCH_CHLD and EBREAK_CHLD – the highest-level School Meals variables – should be all cases who were aged 5 to 18 in September of the reference period and were enrolled in the 12th grade or below.

The impacted cases are limited to a small number of children who were age 18 in September of the reference year. Users should be aware of the issue and should treat the missing data in a way that best suits their research.
