The Frames Program is modernizing the Census Bureau’s data infrastructure to maximize the utility of demographic, economic, and geospatial data. The Frames Program will enable the strategic use of data and increase the value of critical Census Bureau assets to help deliver on its mission to serve as the nation's leading provider of quality data about its people and economy.
If you have questions about the Frames Program, please email geo.frames.pgmo@census.gov
The Master Address File/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) System is the Geospatial Frame. The MAF/TIGER System, along with other linkable geospatial data, such as parcels, building footprint files, grids, and imagery underpins the Census Bureau’s mission; that is, all activity measured by the Census Bureau occurs at a location or, in the case of migration, commuting, or commodity flows, between multiple locations.
