The Frames Program is modernizing the Census Bureau’s data infrastructure to maximize the utility of demographic, economic, and geospatial data. The Frames Program will enable the strategic use of data and increase the value of critical Census Bureau assets to help deliver on its mission to serve as the nation's leading provider of quality data about its people and economy.

The Demographic Frame consists of demographic, social and economic characteristics of individuals derived from Census Bureau surveys, administrative records, and third-party data sources. It includes unique person-level identifiers used to link individuals across datasets and over time. It can be aggregated to family and household units.
