TIGER Geodatabases are spatial extracts from the Census Bureau’s MAF/TIGER database for use with geographic information systems (GIS) software. The geodatabases contain national coverage (for geographic boundaries or features) or state coverage (boundaries within state).
These files do not include demographic data, but they contain geographic entity codes that can be linked to the Census Bureau’s demographic data, available on data.census.gov.
See the documentation for the description of geographic boundaries and features contained in each geodatabase. Further details of the geographic boundaries and features can be found in the TIGER/Line Shapefiles technical documentation. These files will be released up to two times a year.

They are compressed and the size indicated in the download menu is the compressed size. We strongly suggest you access these files through our site using an FTP client (anonymous log-in and password).
