The Census Bureau identified a processing error in the type of structure item used to create the 2016 ACS data products. The error only affected households that answered "Boat, RV, van, etc." on the mail questionnaire. Households providing this response via other data collection modes were not affected. The error was identified too late for the Census Bureau to fix and resulted in an underestimate of the number of these housing units.

The processing error was not limited to any specific geography level. However, certain geographies were affected more than others.  Please use caution when using the 2016 estimate and take care in using the margins of error when comparing the 2016 estimate to previous years.
