The core TIGER/Line Files and Shapefiles do not include demographic data, but they do contain geographic entity codes that can be linked to the Census Bureau’s demographic data, available on data.census.gov.
All legal boundaries and names are as of January 1, 2022. Released September 30, 2022.
The 2022 vintage includes the new county-equivalent planning regions in Connecticut. As a result, metro and micro areas, combined statistical areas, metropolitan divisions, New England city and town areas (NECTAs), combined NECTAs, and NECTA divisions are not available in the current vintage. Refer to earlier TIGER/Line releases for these geographic areas.
The 2022 TIGER/Line Congressional District and State Legislative District Shapefiles are based on the whole 2020 Census tabulation block representations of the 118th Congressional District and 2022 State Legislative District plans as submitted by the states to the U.S. Census Bureau.
For shapefiles that illustrate split blocks, for those congressional and state legislative district plans that contain split blocks, please refer to the 2023 TIGER/Line shapefiles.
