Census of Manufactures: 1947 — Product Supplement
A compilation of the product statistics published in the product tables of volume II, showing 1947 and comparative 1939 statistics for approximately 6,500 products manufactured by United States industry. An alphabetical product index is also included.
In addition to product statistics, the industry reports present data on such subjects as employment, pay rolls, cost of materials, inventories, and capital expenditures, together with a brief description of the industries covered.
A Note on Language
Census statistics date back to 1790 and reflect the growth and change of the United States. Past census reports contain some terms that today’s readers may consider obsolete and inappropriate. As part of our goal to be open and transparent with the public, we are improving access to all Census Bureau original publications and statistics, which serve as a guide to the nation's history.
