A compilation of selected general statistics for States, metropolitan areas, counties, and urban places.

Data for each State and the District of Columbia are classified by number of establishments; number of employees; production and related workers; value added by manufacture; cost of materials, fuels, electricity, and contract work; value for products shipped; and expenditures for new plant and equipment.

In addition, detailed statistics for each State and its standard metropolitan areas and principal industrial counties are included.
