Online Product Calendar

The U.S. Census Bureau provides anticipated release dates for its regular and recurring statistical products through its online product calendar. This calendar is regularly updated to reflect the most current information.

Data.census.gov Users Needed for Survey

The U.S. Census Bureau’s Center for Enterprise Dissemination Services and Consumer Innovation is looking for participants for an upcoming Usability Testing study. A wide range of data users with varying backgrounds are needed to learn how users interact with the site. Participants should have past or current experience using or analyzing data – and use data from data.census.gov or other statistical sites for research and to make decisions. Demographic

Commuting Measures in the Survey of Income and Program Participation and the American Community Survey

The U.S. Census Bureau will release a new working paper that examines how two national surveys compare in their availability and measurement of commuting behaviors. The working paper uses data from the Survey of Income and Program Participation and the American Community Survey and compares estimates from 2013 to 2021. (Scheduled for release June 15.)

Vintage 2025 Population Estimates for the Nation, States, Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical Areas, and Counties by Age, Sex, Race and Hispanic Origin and for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its Municipios by Age and Sex

The U.S. Census Bureau will release Vintage 2025 population estimates by demographic characteristics June 25. Internet tables and detailed downloadable files will show annual population estimates for the nation, states, metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas, and counties by age, sex, race and Hispanic origin, and for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and its municipios by age and sex between April 1, 2020, and July 1, 2025. (Scheduled for embargo starting June 23 and for public release June 25.)

Quarterly Summary of State and Local Government Tax Revenues: 1st Quarter 2026

The Census Bureau will release a summary of quarterly estimates of state and local government tax revenue at the national level as well as detailed tax revenue data for individual states. This report produces two income and sales data tables and one table for tax collections by state. More information about this data can be found on the Quarterly Summary of State and Local Tax Revenue page. (Scheduled for release June 11.)

Cannabis Excise Sales Tax Collections: 1st Quarter 2026

The Census Bureau will release experimental data featuring quarterly tax collections at the state level for cannabis sales. Data for cannabis sales taxes were reported in the Quarterly Summary of State and Local Government Tax Revenue and were first released for the second quarter of 2023. More information about this data can be found online. (Scheduled for release June 11.)

Where Did the Workers Go? Using QWI-Based Employment to Population Ratios to Understand Post-Pandemic Employment Recovery

The U.S. Census Bureau and the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership in collaboration with the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) and the Labor Market Information (LMI) Institute, welcome Anthony Schaffhauser as he presents, “Where Did the Workers Go? Using QWI-Based Employment to Population Ratios to Understand Post-Pandemic Employment Recovery.” Following the pandemic, employers faced widespread worker shortages driven by factors such as childcare challenges, reduced immigration, early retirements and disproportionate impacts on certain groups. This presentation introduces new Covered Employment to Population Ratio (CERP) that integrates QWI data with population estimates to analyze workforce recovery at detailed geographic levels. (Scheduled for June 17.)

New USA Trade Online tool Now Available

The U.S. Census Bureau has announced the launch of USA Trade Online: Reimagined, transitioning from the legacy USA Trade Online (UTO) platform. This new version features the same trade data as the legacy version while improving user experience with a modern, more intuitive interface and streamlined design. The UTO legacy version will be decommissioned by June. Data users who have saved reports on the legacy platform are strongly encouraged to recreate and save them in the new tool.

Business Trends and Outlook Survey

The Business Trends and Outlook Survey (BTOS) measures business conditions on an ongoing basis. BTOS experimental data products are representative of all employer businesses other than farms in the U.S. economy. The data allow greater insight into the state of the economy by providing continuous, timely information for key economic measures. Data are released biweekly and are available by sector, state, employment size and the 25 most populous metropolitan statistical areas. New questions on artificial intelligence (AI) were released April 23.

The U.S. Census Bureau publishes updates in the Federal Register to keep the public informed about surveys, censuses and related activities. Community Resilience Estimates Now Available for 2016-2018, 2020

May 28 — To aid with disaster case studies and help state demographers with observing historical trends, the Community Resilience Estimates Program published never released data for the years 2016, 2017, 2018 (nonexperimental) and 2020. These are for stateside estimates only. Data are available through API/data.census.gov and can be downloaded from the CRE datasets webpage.

Census Bureau Community Resilience Estimates for Puerto Rico

May 21 — The U.S. Census Bureau released the Community Resilience Estimates (CRE) for Puerto Rico, which include population estimates by level of social vulnerability to disasters for the commonwealth, municipios and census tracts. The updated interactive tool provides users with an easy-to-use interface to quickly look up and map neighborhoods with “low,” “medium” and “high” social vulnerability.

2024 School Enrollment

May 26 — The U.S. Census Bureau released the 2024 School Enrollment Supplement, providing the educational characteristics of people age 3 and older. The findings are based on data collected through the Current Population Survey’s Annual Social and Economic Supplement.

2023 New Local Estimates of Air Conditioning Access

May 19 — The U.S. Census Bureau released new experimental Local Air Conditioning Estimates (LACE) showing how many homes have air conditioning at national, state, county and census tract levels. The estimates use data from the American Community Survey and American Housing Survey to help communities identify areas with limited access to cooling. This information can support local planning for extreme heat. More information about the methodology is available on the LACE product page and was covered in the webinar May 27.

Government Organization Summary Report: 2022 and 2025

May 28 — The U.S. Census Bureau released the Government Organization Summary Report: 2022 and 2025, highlighting national trends in state and local government data. This report showcases data derived from the newly released annual Government Organization series data tables, which lists all active independent government units, dependent school district and public pension systems.

Analyzing Accessibility of Essential Services and Opportunities for Tribal Nations

May 20 — The U.S. Census Bureau and the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership – in collaboration with the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) and the Labor Market Information (LMI) Institute – welcomed Darren Jiang, Liang Tian, and Paula Zumudio as they presented, “Analyzing Accessibility of Essential Services and Opportunities for Tribal Nations.” This study explores the accessibility of essential services for tribal communities in the San Diego region by leveraging multidimensional data elements including LEHD Origin-Destination Employment Statistics (LODES), employment density, public service geographic data, broadband access data and demographic characteristics. Visualization of this analysis will help highlighted the level of access tribal nations are currently experiencing. Additionally, investigating the feasibility of accessing these essential services may provide a more comprehensive view of what services are available, the quality of services and what obstacles prevent or discourage the community from utilizing these essential services.

May 19 — To commemorate the July 26, 1990, signing of the Americans With Disabilities Act into law, the U.S. Census Bureau presents a wide array of statistical information about people with disabilities.

April 21 — This month-long observance of Asian American and Pacific Islanders started more than 25 years ago.
